Sorry it’s been a while – lots of ‘doing stuff’ and not enough time to write about it.
Looks like the weather is looking better…
At long last the promised barbecue weather has arrived – although too late for the school holidays. September is turning out to be dry, sunny and fairly warm. And the outlook is for plenty more sunshine to come, marking the first time for well over two months that the entire country has shared fine weather.
More soon including some reviews of some great outdoor grub and some wonderful little woodstoves.

I know! I have just come back from a weeks holiday in St Ives and we are all raison-brown!
Long may the good weather continue
Cheers Dave. Great blog BTW. Just settled down for a good read and realised that I was still at work!
We were camping in the Doethie Valley this weekend - hottest I have seen it this year :)
cheers Chris.
The Doethie Valley is a really beautiful nice quiet spot to get away from it all. Did you do any biking or was it just camping/walking?
It's one of my favourite places on the planet Dave.
It was a family weekend away, but I snuck my bike along and rode the Cwm Rhaedar trail on Saturday morning and then took the kids for a stroll around the reservoir on Sunday.
Nice chilling weekend :)
glad you had such a chilled out good time Chris. Its what makes it all worth it. A bit closer to my home, I usually take the kids around Talybont reservoir as a favourite of mine. I am hoping to do a bit of family cycling next year once my youngest is a bit better on her bike, probably around the Forest of Dean
