I have just taken delivery of a few meals for an upcoming trip. It’s not super lightweight, dried food, but some real (posh) nosh from Look what we found!
The meals are in tough pouches that can be emptied into a pan, Mic’d or boiled in the bag. This last method will be perfect for my Bushbuddy stove.
The big difference is that these are proper home-style meals, using real ingredients and no colours, preservatives and any other processed nonsense.
Looking at the Moroccan Spices Chickpea Tagine, the ingredients are exactly what I would use if I made it myself – chickpeas, apricots, potato, onions, peppers and masses of spices. 237 cals and over 45g of carbs, it’s under 1% fat. I’m happy!
The Wild rabbit in Leek and Elderflower Sauce (with red Camargue rice) looks equally natural and impressive – the rabbits are expertly shot by a chap called Richard and cooked with cream, leeks and elderflower cordial.
